Bed Systems

A good nights sleep is important. The next few questions are about the sleep system in your van.

Do you want a fixed platform bed? (you don't have to make it/break it down each day)

What clearance do you require? (measured from floor to bottom of bed)

Yes, but built higher at ~36-38" - Provides the ability to store bikes underneath

Do you need the bed to be removable? Useful if you plan to haul large items, bigger than the garage space.

Other Bed Styles

Here are a few other bed options to consider

Gaucho bed - a couch that pulls out from one side or the other (or both) to form a bed platform

Murphy Bed - pulls down from the wall - requires 1'+ of space when in vertical position.

Bunk Beds - we can't help determine who gets dibbs on the top one!

Motorized - drive system raises bed to the ceiling to provide for easy seating below bed AND its already made when it's time to sleep!

OK, now lets talk about the other systems in your build

Electrical System

Unlike a house, you have to take all your power with you so we need to think about how you will use power in your van.

Choose the size of your electrical system

Level I - based around a Goal Zero Yeti 3000x, system includes a 200 Watt Solar System, w/ a small inverter. This system can handle a small fridge, LED lights and USB ports. Nothing fancy but gets the job done.

Level II - dedicated 200AH LiFe Battery bank, 300 Watt Solar System, 2000 Watt Inverter, 30A B2B charger. This size system can support your fridge, LED lights, small kitchen appliances, and phones. Great for weekend off grid camping.

Level III - 400AH LiFe Battery bank, 425 Watt Solar System, 3000 Watt Inverter, 30A B2B Charger. A much more robust system, this can handle powering an induction cooktop or microwave along with your fridge, LED lights, small kitchen appliances, and your electronics. Ideal for 3-5 days of off grid adventures.

LARGE- 600AH LiFe Battery bank, 400+ Watt Solar System, 3000 Watt Inverter, 60A B2B charger. This is the same as the medium system but adds more power for AC support. Will run a small AC unit and allows for extended boondocking.

We use low voltage LED lighting in the form of puck lights, diffused strip lighting and accent lighting fixtures where needed
